Personally, I expected much more. Maybe it was because of the monsoon, and I could not enjoy the incredible view of the snowy mountain.
But I just found out that there were a lot of shops, guest houses and cafes that obstructed the view from the main street!
It is just amazing to walk in lush green mountains. However, backpackers say the food is bit expensive than in McLeod Ganj. But still definitely worth visiting!
The climb is quite steep. You can go on foot or, if you are lazy, a tax.

I definitely approached the world of THUPKA and Momos! I’ve been passionate about THUPKA since the first day I arrived. It’s delicious.
THUPKA literally means “long spaghetti”, and the dish is prepared from spaghetti in broth with vegetables.
Although it doesn’t look very interesting, it was mouth-watering!
Since I had been eating curries pane and naan bread for weeks now, I was very happy to change my daily diet to THUPKA.
However, it was also a great dish to warm up after the monsoon rains. It was cheap, about 120 rupees per bowl.
Momos are steamed ravioli stuffed with meat or vegetables. They are super cheap and very satiating.
Although they can be found in restaurants such as the Greens Hotel at around 150 rupees for 8 pieces, the ones sold on the street are better! Some great places to try Tibetan food are Tibetan Cuisine, Aroma Cafe, TIBETAK Tibetan Restaurant and the HIMALA BANCAR.
